Business Sales Market Update

Publicly listed cyber security services provider Tesserent plans to acquire cyber security firm Loop Secure as a "strategic addition" to the company for a combined price of $13.5 million. Headquartered in Sydney and containing offices in Melbourne and Brisbane, Loop Secure offers managed security services, governance risk and compliance and offensive security services, as well as a security operations centre in Melbourne. The acquisition is being viewed as a “strategic addition to strengthen Tesserent’s Cyber 360 capabilities”, according to a statement published to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), with synergies and opportunities expected through its corporate relationships and skills.

Telstra’s IT services division, Telstra Purple, has acquired internet of things (IoT) specialists Alliance Automation and Aqura Technologies to bolster its capabilities in the field and expand into more verticals. Brisbane-based Alliance Automation bills itself as one of Australia’s largest independent providers of IoT industrial automation solutions and control systems, specialising in technical advisory and design, electrical and automation engineering, cybersecurity services and more. Perth-headquartered Aqura is a subsidiary of ASX-listed surveying services company Veris, and specialises in technology and telecommunications infrastructure solutions.

The company counts Cisco, Dell, Citrix, Microsoft, VMware and HP as its vendor partners. Hubify said it shared the same upstream suppliers and platforms with Connected, which it added would allow for seamless integration of technologies and systems. The two companies have also worked together in the past, with Hubify using Connected for overflow technical support and pre-sales. Connected will also bring in 25 customers billing some $2.6 million annually, as well as a team of system and technical engineers staying on with Hubify.

The business is run under management with direct prices via their online store and a display centre located in the Victorian warehouse. The business stores locally over 10,000 chandeliers and operates efficiently with a streamlined sales, warehouse, and delivery process able to meet customer orders without delay. Since inception in 2006 the business has significantly grown, now offering the largest independent collection of crystal chandeliers in the southern hemisphere. Hundreds of chandeliers are being delivered every week direct to client’s homes.

US web and commerce technology firm Newfold Digital has acquired hosting services company Hostopia Australia from payments and business technology company Deluxe for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition expands Newfold Digital’s presence in Australia, while Hostopia Australia customers would gain access to Newfold’s brands, products and customer support. Some of Newfold’s brands include Web.com, CrazyDomains.com, Reseller Club and more. Hostopia also brings in some 50,000 small business customers and 250,000 hosted websites.
