Publicly listed cyber security services provider Tesserent plans to acquire cyber security firm Loop Secure as a "strategic addition" to the company for a combined price of $13.5 million. Headquartered in Sydney and containing offices in Melbourne and Brisbane, Loop Secure offers managed security services, governance risk and compliance and offensive security services, as well as a security operations centre in Melbourne. The acquisition is being viewed as a “strategic addition to strengthen Tesserent’s Cyber 360 capabilities”, according to a statement published to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), with synergies and opportunities expected through its corporate relationships and skills.

An Australian luxury lighting retailer that imports direct and sells online with $3.85 million revenue, four staff and $2 million profit. Number 1 in their category, it’s a simple operation, has great cash flow, and has room to penetrate markets across states further. Each product comes in a box that is imported from overseas. The same box is then shipped to the customer making for an easy operation and low costs. The business operates from a showroom/warehouse in Victoria, where all products are on display. There is a strong amount of online orders, an exclusive product range, meaning almost no direct competition for the same items, and exceptional gross profit margins.

Telco services company Vonex has acquired Adelaide-based telephony and internet services wholesaler Voiteck for $2.75 million. The acquisition expands Vonex’s geographic expansion with a physical presence in Adelaide CBD, serving small and medium sized enterprises in South Australia. Voiteck specialises in VoIP, hosted PBX, Optus mobile phone plans and internet via the NBN, private fibre, wireless broadband and point to point wireless. It has some 1000 customers in end-markets, including aged care and community clubs, as well as some 10,000 PBX users. As part of the deal, Voiteck managing director Declan O’Callaghan will join Vonex upon completion of the transaction.

Nexion has acquired Australian telecommunications and network solution provider BlueSky Telecom for $2 million in shares. According to the publicly listed company, BlueSky has national customers across Australia and revenue of $2.9 million. Nexion claimed the deal will increase its recurring revenue base as a percentage of total revenue and that there "is a strong potential identified for cost synergies". Founded in 2013 by Daniel Fairbairn, BlueSky is headquartered in Perth and provides owned and operated international hosted voice platform and an MPLS network. According to LinkedIn, it has between 11 and 50 employees in Australia.

IT professional services company Seisma has bought Australian Salesforce partner Smartapps for an unknown sum. Founded in 2013 and also based in Melbourne, Smartapps provides enterprise cloud applications and delivery solutions using the Salesforce platform. According to Seisma, Smartapps is one of the largest privately-owned Salesforce partners in Australia. The company claimed Smartapps will boost its own application development and data analytics. Seisma CEO Robert Hogeland added that the deal would enable it to "curate market-leading services for its customers". The two companies were also said to have compatible cultures and “share a vision of improving sustainability and diversity in the technology industry”.
